we have is all about development of the
papers and the palette so that's why
traceability is very important for us
if we want to know the product is
solving adequately we have to protect
all the workers in a supply chain
and also make sure the material
resourcing is sustainable to the
environment
we wanted to create product that honored
a region
of the world that we hold dear to our
brand
and so we're here in the himalayan
mountains collecting plastic bottles to
send through
a new traceable supply chain that turns
them into
garments all contained in the country of
india
the process begins in himalayas we
collect bottles
in places where there is a more influx
of tourists
those collected bottles are compacted
built and sent to a factory where the
bottles are cleaned
converted into small pieces which are
called flakes
the flakes are dissolved into a polymer
from which
we make the yarns the yarns are then
packed
and sent to paragon plant for converted
into a fabric
this is a zero waste plant that means
100 water is recycled
to use for dyeing again after getting
the yarn we are getting the fabric
heated
dyed and then out from here to the
garment factory
once it comes into matrix we check the
fabric cut it
finish it check the quality as per the
specifications and ship it out to north
face
we genuinely believe in the concept of
sustainability
the matrix generates 67
of the total energy it consumes in the
form of renewable energy
and it's absolutely in line with what
not face is doing in this product line
i'm very proud of the north face have
this human layer body program
it's because we see the climate change
in front of our eyes and also we see the
bottles everywhere
so we are starting to think about how to
reuse it to give them a new life
we have a responsibility to lead in
traceability
it's about honesty and integrity and
delivering products
to our consumers that they can feel good
about
